Zohran Mamdani Promises a 'Dawn' for New York City in Maiden Speech
On his first day in his new role, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” New York City, declaring “a fresh chapter” and an ambitious beginning to his tenure.
An Unprecedented Figure
The young figure, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, now stands as the city's first mayor born in Africa. He additionally marked a milestone by being the inaugural to be sworn in using the Qur'an.
