Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The influential game designer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
