Villa versus Forest: Top-Flight Build-Up

Preamble

Welcome everyone to this English top-flight clash between Aston Villa and Forest. The home side are the expected winners to win in this lunchtime start as they are soaring this season and are currently in third, while Nottingham Forest are seventeenth and just a handful of points outside of the drop zone.

Each side are coming into the game on the back of a loss as Villa were defeated 4-1 by top-of-the-table Arsenal and Forest succumbed 2-0 to Everton.

Dugout Insights

Forest boss Sean Dyche has said on his counterpart today:

"He’s [Unai Emery] done a excellent job as a manager there. Their signings has been good - spent a lot of money, to be fair, on some top players and they’ve shaped it into a cohesive team, so certainly a challenging game.

We’ve just shown lately, we’ve faced some of the top sides, or the ones that are tipped every year, and held our own against them - and a couple of teams maybe not as fancied, we haven't performed as strongly against them. That’s probably the challenge of the group - rising to the expectation of each game rather than just the major fixtures."

Squad News

The midfielder has will not be staying at Aston Villa, an update that was stated by the manager Unai Emery in the build-up to this match. The boss stated:

"I am respecting him as much as possible because he’s a excellent professional, very respectful. The situation we have with Harvey is this year he is on loan and if he is playing matches, we are obligated to buy him. We made the decision two months ago we are not convinced to make the move permanent, committing the money we would need to."

What a difference a year makes. This time last year Nottingham Forest were third in the table, where Villa are now.
