Shock as Beloved South African DJ Shot Dead in Johannesburg.
A renowned South African radio and club DJ has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation battling entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the city centre on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Police said the 40-year-old presenter was approached by a trio of assailants, with one began shooting at him before escaping on foot.
The reason of the incident is unknown and no arrests are in custody, as per the official statement.
The Fatal Incident
Police said that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a location in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.
He had spent several hours at the property managing the setup of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unidentified individuals, as per local media.
"The report indicates the deceased was approached by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before running from the location on foot," a police statement stated.

The DJ tried to run away after he was hit but collapsed a short distance away.
Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and it was not a robbery during the assault.
