According to a high-ranking Ukraine's official, attacks on the Ukrainian railway system have grown three times since the summer as Moscow attempts to undermine one of the nation's crucial logistical networks.

Significant Destruction and Growing Threats

Transport officials report that assaults on the rail network since the commencement of 2025 have led to losses reaching approximately $1 billion.

"If you compare only the previous 90 days, attacks have increased by 300 percent," emphasized the official. "From the commencement of the current year there have been eight hundred strikes on railway infrastructure, and over 3,000 rail infrastructure elements have been destroyed."

The expert further noted that ongoing escalating strikes specifically aim at locomotives, with special attention on targeting locomotive operators.
