The Austrian squad has revealed significant changes for the 2026 Grand Prix year, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat.

Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls.

These changes sees Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

Lindblad has been marked out as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Talking about the team's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "appears very talented", highlighting his "pure speed".

Red Bull has had a plan since last year to ready Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, featuring appearances in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", commenting: "2026 will be a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm prepared to collaborate with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.

Hadjar's Big Break

Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, since then, he has emerged as one of the most impressive newcomers of the year.

His performances included an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the drivers' standings.

A senior team figure said: "Isack has displayed impressive growth and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max."

The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "up for the challenge".

Lawson Retains His Seat

For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the main team but was demoted early in the year. He has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he merits another season.

The Japanese driver, meanwhile, loses his place after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
