Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , after recent discussion about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the amount of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

However it was good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have that deficit and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they could position two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a team that wants to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the area downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think Payton appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success Denver are having on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key is is maintain this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet since Denver {beat|def
