Liverpool's manager introduced multiple alterations to the starting lineup after the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United last Sunday. Salah being dropped is among the major surprises, while Florian Wirtz is back to the first team. Ekitike, Jones, and Frimpong—all of whom added energy as replacements in the previous match—are also included in the lineup, together with Andy Robertson. Kerkez, Conor Bradley, and Mac Allister drop to the bench, while Gravenberch is absent because of an ankle issue.

After losing four games consecutively, Liverpool are not exactly entering unknown territory. But, the previous occasion the team suffered five losses on the bounce was back in the 1950s, under manager Don Welsh. That season ended in the drop from the first division.
Now, no one is seriously suggesting that the team face relegation this season. Yet the manager is keen to avoid making that bit of history. Liverpool need to get their domestic and European campaigns on course quickly.
Frankfurt's initial fixtures in this season's tournament finished 5-1—a home win over Galatasaray and an away defeat at Atletico Madrid. The Reds, on the other hand, have defeated the side Eintracht lost to, and lost to the one they beat. So, predicting this match is especially difficult.
